What happens when you take line breaks out of a poem? Is it still a poem? What makes a prose poem work? How do we think outside of our traditional conception of what makes a poem work? How does freedom create more possibilities for truth? These questions and more will be explored in writing, reading, and revising prose poems. We'll look at masters of the craft-- Anne Carson, David Shumate, Ada Limon, and others-- as we write, workshop, and revise prose poems of our own.
