You'll learn key concepts and fundamental principles involved in the process of screenwriting, both feature or short form, and you'll be introduced to various storytelling structures and why they have been used throughout the history of film and television. This introductory class will help you understand how to think about storytelling from a visual perspective using your favorite movies and TV shows as a reference.

About the Instructor:

Christin Baker is an award winning director and Emmy nominated producer, and founder of the digital distribution and production company tello focuses on producing and distributing stories for the lesbian community and is the first lesbian network to receive an Emmy Nomination. Its series "Secs & EXECS" has received a 2017 Emmy Nomination for Mindy Sterling, Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy/Drama Series.

Christin is passionate about telling relevant and meaningful stories. She has been fortunate to collaborate with veterans of the television industry in making concept pilots that are also distributed as digital series. Christin is also passionate about directing and was awarded Best Director for her work on Maybelle at the 2016 London Raindance Film Festival. She is a member of the Producers Guild of America as well as the Television Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
