Pay Attention, Be Amazed: Writing from the Poetry of Mary Oliver

from 30.00

Mary Oliver was a Pulitzer-Prize-winning poet who wrote best-selling and widely-read poetry. Her work, which integrated plain language with rich imagery, was known for its careful and ecstatic attention to the natural world. In this two-hour session, we will examine some of Oliver's poems and discuss the themes of her work, as well as critiques of it. We will also complete a series of writing exercises designed to draw us deeper into a space of mindful connection with the world around us, a space from which we can practice describing, with clarity and flair, the things that make us feel awake and alive in the world.
