Join Young Adult Author Courtney “Court” Stevens as she presents planning and plotting tools aimed at transforming your book idea into a viable product for today’s fast-paced marketplace. Whether your target audience falls somewhere in the children’s market (18 and under), genre fiction, or adult novels, this sessions seeks to identify the book idea in your personal wheelhouse, learn basic novel planning skills, and then craft a plot that sets ideas and characters into succinct motion. Beginners and masters all welcome; we’ll learn together.

About the Instructor: Courtney “Court” Stevens grew up among winding Southern rivers, cornfields, and churches. She is a former adjunct professor, youth minister, and Olympic torchbearer. These days she writes award winning coming-of-truth fiction and is a bookseller at Parnassus Books in Nashville, TN. She has a pet whale named Herman, a bandsaw named Rex, and several novels with her name on the spine:  Faking Normal,  The Lies About Truth, the e-novella  The Blue-Haired Boy,  Dress Codes for Small Towns, Four Three Two One, and forthcoming novel, The June Boys. As an educator and author, she visits schools, designs retreats, and teaches workshops on marketing, revision, character development, and Channeling Your Brave.
