Writing in the Real World

Writing in the Real World

from 50.00

Writing is hard enough. But writing while there’s jobs to go to, bills to pay, groceries to buy, kids to raise? Sometimes that seems nearly impossible. This class offers an intensive look at all the challenges writers face that have nothing to do with putting the words on the page. We’ll share the numerous programs and residencies that offer emerging writers invaluable time and space to work (especially those that don’t cost a dime). We’ll discuss strategies to limit distractions, carve out the time, and spur inspiration. You’ll leave the workshop with a set of concrete tools for fitting writing into your busy life. Best of all, you’ll meet a community of fellow writers who, just like you, are deeply invested in their craft, despite the noise that life throws their way.
