A former music journalist, Anna Schachner is the author of the novel You and I and Someone Else. She has published short fiction and nonfiction in many journals and magazines, including Puerto del Sol, Ontario Review, The Sun, and Hayden's Ferry Review, and she contributes nonfiction about books and literary culture to publications such as The Guardian and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She's taught creative writing at Emory University and Georgia State University, and, through her social justice work with the nonprofit organization Reforming Arts, in the Georgia women's prison system. For ten years, she was the editor of The Chattahoochee Review. She lives in Atlanta, where she is hard at work on several books and has recently started a freelance writing and editing adventure.
