This generative workshop is for any writer interested in creating short fiction. In the first part of this six-week course, we’ll focus on the fundamentals—structure, character, dialogue, setting—as we develop new work. In the second half, you’ll have the opportunity to workshop a draft of a story, receiving feedback from your peers and leaving with a concrete plan for revision.

This course is perfect for beginning writers, as well as for those of you who have been at it a while and want to refresh or take your craft to the next level.

Lucas Schaefer's fiction has appeared in One Story, The Baffler, The Florida Review and elsewhere. He lives with his husband in Austin, where he is at work on a novel. You can find him on Twitter at @LucasESchaefer and Instagram at @lucaseshaefer.
