Practicing our craft is how we become writers; knowing how to “sell” that craft is how we go pro. In this course, you will dive into: accountability and productivity methods for your individual work style; how to effectively submit to journals, pitch editors, and query agents; how to gracefully follow up with promising leads; and the ins and outs of marketing, networking etiquette, and what it means to be a literary citizen.

Lisa Bubert is a freelance writer based in Nashville, Tennessee and a staff member at The Porch. Her literary work has appeared or is forthcoming in The Rumpus, Puerto del Sol, Washington Square Review, Carolina Quarterly, Natural Bridge and more. She has been nominated for a Pushcart and for Best Small Fictions 2020. Her freelance bylines include Real Simple, Romper, Parents, Texas Highways, and more, where she has covered personal finance, children and libraries, and all things Texas.
