Practicing our craft is how we become writers; knowing how to “sell” that craft is how we go pro. In this course, you will dive into: accountability and productivity methods for your individual work style; how to effectively submit to journals, pitch editors, and query agents; how to gracefully follow up with promising leads; and the ins and outs of marketing, networking etiquette, and what it means to be a literary citizen.
Lisa Bubert is a writer based in Nashville, Tennessee and a staff member at The Porch. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in The Rumpus, Puerto del Sol, Washington Square Review, Carolina Quarterly, Natural Bridge and more. She has been nominated for a Pushcart and for Best Small Fictions 2020. She is also a children's librarian with over a decade of experience bringing picturebooks to life through story time.
Lisa Bubert's "The Business of Writing" was perhaps one of the most informative writing classes I've had. Beyond the business aspect, her knowledge of literature and writing technique is impressive.
I really appreciate Lisa's willingness to share of knowledge & experience. I left her workshop with a wealth of information & resources.
Five Stars! She is an incredible teacher.
