Poets often find inspiration in strange places and small details. In this generative class, we'll challenge ourselves to write poems in response to unexpected prompts--a recipe, a scene from a show, a scientific article, a card game, etc. Then we'll hunt for the uncommon muses in our daily lives and learn techniques to capitalize on them.

This workshop location has been changed. The correct location is NPL East Branch, 206 Gallatin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206.

Jamie A. M. is a writer, Buschgroßmutter, and editor at The Dodge, a journal dedicated to eco-writing. Their work has been published in Frogpond, Grimoire Magazine, and Wrongdoing Magazine and their short story, Star Eater, recently placed as a finalist in F(r)iction's Fall 2022 Short Fiction Contest. They currently roam the forests around Nashville, TN. You can follow their doings and beings at www.jamiemorning.com or on Instagram @countryfriedhex.
