Open Studio

During select hours each week, we welcome you to write at our headquarters in Berry Hill (2811 Dogwood Pl., 37204). Enjoy time that is yours and yours alone to dig in and put words on the page. A Porch staff member or volunteer will be on duty should you need anything, and you can count on a comfortable space to work, plenty of good coffee, strong WiFi, a library of writerly resources, and the quiet companionship of fellow scribes.

April Hours:
Tuesdays • 9:30-12:30

A:
Free, with suggested donation of $5-10/session, which can be paid by Venmo @PorchTN, cash, or through our website.

Q: Will there be coffee?
A:
Our friends at Bongo Java, Open Studio sponsors, are making sure of it! We’ll have tea as well.

Q: Is there a printer?
A:
There is, and sometimes it works… Please print in moderation.

Q: What about parking?
A:
We have spots for about six to eight well-parked cars. There is no street parking.

Q: I’m not working on anything specifically, but am seeking inspiration. Can you help?
A:
We’ll have prompts posted and at the ready. If reading is inspiration (as it is for us), we have a a sweet little room for reading with a small library of craft books, literary magazines, etc.

Q: Can you  hook me up with other writers who might want to swap pages?
A:
We’ll have a sign up sheet for people seeking draft-reading buddies.

If you’d like to be a volunteer to take on shifts, please email
Katie@porchtn.org.

We’re saving you a seat.

Literary friends, right this way. Membership supports our mission and comes with perks.
