What does a hot July weekend in Nashville need? If you said cold beverages, you’re right. If you said POETRY, you’re extra-right. We’ll have both all weekend long, July 15 - 17, at HQ in Berry Hill!
First up, join us Friday night for a lively conversation with Nashville native Anna B. Sutton about publishing her first collection, Savage Flower.
On Saturday afternoon, Ananda Lima will join us to teach “Take A Break: An Exploration of the Poetic Line” (tuition assistance available!). Following her class, we’ll gather in the backyard for a reading and open mic featuring Sutton, Lima, and fellow Black Lawrence Press poet Lisa Dordal.
Then on Sunday, we’ll write together from generative prompts in the cool confines of HQ, with a chance to share snippets of work in progress. It’s all free (with the exception of the “Take a Break” class), with donations welcome, and open to writers of all levels and curiosities!
