Ross Gay is the author of four books of poetry: Against Which; Bringing the Shovel Down; Be Holding, winner of the PEN American Literary Jean Stein Award; and Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude, winner of the 2015 National Book Critics Circle Award and the 2016 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award. In addition to his poetry, Gay has released three collections of essays—The Book of Delights was a 2019 New York Times bestseller; Inciting Joy followed in 2022, and his newest collection, The Book of (More) Delights arrived in bookstores in September 2023.

Note: This reading will follow Gay’s class for The Porch, “Poetical Things: A Course of Practice” (12:30-2:30pm), also to be held at NPL Main. This reading is free and open to all; students from the class are encouraged to attend.
