This meetup is designed as a supportive space centering LGBTQ+ writers, in any genre! We'll get to know each other, work through a multi-stage writing prompt, and have the option to share our work. We'll also leave time to discuss a short reading in class, and talk through our current projects and goals.

Kumari Devarajan (they/them) is fiction writer from Washington DC and an MFA candidate at Vanderbilt University’s program in creative writing where they are a Russel G. Hamilton Scholar. They are co editor-in-chief of the Nashville Review. They have attended the Tin House Writers Workshop and been a Lambda Literary fellow. Before joining Vanderbilt, they were an award-winning journalist at NPR where they produced for NPR’s Code Switch podcast as well as Throughline and It’s Been a Minute. In their spare time they enjoy baking, jogging, and winning the affections of their finicky cat, Mason.
Devon Brody (she/they) writes essays, fiction, and sometimes poetry. Her work has appeared in The Georgia Review, Granta, The Paris Review, and Zyzzyva.
Lane Scott Jones is a Pushcart Prize-nominated writer, speaker, and the voice behind Second Rodeo on Substack. Her creative nonfiction has appeared in Longreads, Good Grit, Nashville Scene, Repeller, and in translation in Internazionale. Originally from North Carolina, Lane sold everything she owned in 2022 to travel the world full-time and she's been living out of a carry-on ever since.
