Praise for The Come Apart:
“One of the great art novels.” —Mary Miller, author of Biloxi
“This was a book I truly wanted to savor. Two chapters in, I already missed it. Like the protagonist, I played in an indie band in Chicago in 2009 and moved to Nashville in 2010, and was nostalgic as Felts’s spot-on descriptions evoked the rare and fleeting optimism of both cities at that point in time. Felts expertly balances the tenuous existence of a young, grieving songwriter who struggles to find her footing in an ever-changing world. As elegant as it is gritty, as delicate as it is raw, as thought-provoking as it is tender. I know I will keep Maggie close to my heart for a long time after finishing this book.” —Leslie Baird, author of Salomé
